Spruce Up Your Living Room with a Fake Palm Tree

Depending on where you live and what your house looks like, a fake palm tree could actually be a classy addition, even though plastic plants do not always give off the connotation of "classy." If you live in a tropical area and have either a moderately tropical theme or a white-and-green theme throughout your house, a fake palm tree could actually make an excellent addition to your living room or dining room.

Surprisingly, there are nearly as many varieties of fake palm three as there are of real palm trees. For instance, even smaller retailers, such as Brands on Sale, who only sell mid-sized fake trees, sells four different fake palm tree models.

Most trees intended for house decoration are between five and six feet tall. The Brands on Sale "triple artificial model" is a rough replica of the coconut palm tree and stands about five feet tall. In contrast, the Brands on Sale's "lighted artificial model" is slightly larger (six feet), but has a number of lights implanted in the palms, which can be switched on during the night to light up a room-similar to a Christmas tree. In fact, some people even use these fake palms as Christmas trees.

In addition to hard plastic models, some retailers and craft stores also will sell a fake palm tree made out of polyurethane and silk. The silk used is similar to that of silk plants you would find in craft or home decoration stores.

Amazon Foliage also sells a number of fake palm tree models. They also include potted trees and palm tree ferns in their selection. They offer silk palm trees that are slightly taller than the Brands on Sale trees-from 8 to 10 feet in height.
